Our core morning sessions run from 9am to 12pm Monday to Friday. During these sessions the children enjoy free play as they explore the resources and activities within the setting. They also participate in group activities, games and stories, as well as playing outside and having snack.
We offer an optional lunch hour every day, which runs until 1pm and children bring their own packed lunch. We also offer afternoon sessions which run until 2.30pm. Each afternoon we focus on a different activity:

Messy Monday
Monday afternoons involve all things messy. We experiment with different materials, including paint, chalk, glue, and even shaving foam. We also have the opportunity to work on longer projects, which are completed over a number of weeks. We wear aprons to keep our clothes as clean as possible, but we do often get very messy!

Trainer Tuesday
On Tuesday afternoons we enjoy a range of activities to help develop fine and gross motor skills (as well as many others!). These include threading, pegging, mark-making, climbing and dancing. Tuesday afternoon also includes a PE session, during which we participate in lots of fun physical activities and games, so trainers are recommended!

Welly Wednesday
On Wednesday afternoons we put our wellies on (whatever the weather!) and enjoy a walk through local fields and woodland. We look out for wildlife and animals on our walks and observe how the natural environment changes throughout the year. We love muddy puddles, so when it is wet we put our waterproofs on and enjoy getting muddy! |
Tasty Thursday
Thursday afternoons are about getting creative in the kitchen. We enjoy making a range of sweet and savoury things, from pizzas, to vegetable bake, to apple crumble. When we are cooking we have the opportunity to talk about how different foods help our bodies, the different food groups, and where different foods come from. The children learn lots of new skills including mixing, chopping, rolling and grating and they get to take what they have made home to try it!

Forest Friday
On Friday afternoons we explore our local woodland and green spaces, with the help of 'Johnson', our Forest Fox. We learn all about our natural environment through exploration and play, and enjoy activities including den making, natural collages, and leaf printing. We have opportunities to compare different plants, trees and leaves and to observe how they change through the seasons. |
